Dramatic monologue is created and used by the English poet Robert Browning first time in the literature history. My Last Duchess is one of the most typical works of this kind. This paper discusses the two translated versions from three points of view, that is, dramatic nature, the distance between the poet and the monologist as well as colloquialism. Also based on Skopos Theory,it explores the influence of the three natures on the dramatic monologue translation strategies by using the two Chinese versions.
