商业伦理的匮乏,使得中国企业的默会规则难以被外国员工所理解和尊重,因此,中国企业收购欧美企业,多数会以失败告终。
The current economic downturn is changing the structure of the global market. In China, some people consider this a chance for Chinese firms to invest abroad. However, the expected investments and purchases are difficult to accomplish. Even if firms succeed in investing overseas, they will probably fail to operate the purchased company. The tacit rules inside the purchasing and purchased firms should be blamed. No one outside a particular firm can properly understand its tacit rules since they are implicit and not written in regulation files. Different firms cultivate different tacit rules that their respective employees observe. This is part of something known as organizational culture, and it is much harder to merge two organizational cultures than to merge two firms. That's why many mergers between famous enterprises ultimately fail. It may be even more difficult in the case of Chinese companies because they often have immature business ethics. This can be an obstacle to earning the respect of foreign workers, who might find it difficult to accept the new culture. The result is that the Chinese firms will probably try to adapt to their new foreign staff in some cases.
