Chekhov is famous for his striking achievement in creation of short stories. He had a deep insight into the distorted humanity and had deep understanding of solitude and numbness. So his works point to the estrangement and apathy in human life. He predicted the puzzle and bafflement of life in the new century. Further, he carried out a bold test on the new artistic technique and expressive ways. For that reason, he became the pioneer in the transition from traditional literature to its modern counterpart.
