The paper analyzes the contradiction between the kitchen and bathroom in old houses and nowadays living needs, researches the reconstruction of kitchen and bathroom of houses in 20th 80s, points out some factual improvement measures for the adjustment of the plane layout of old houses and the improvement of the space utilization, so as to meet the need for the modem life in old houses.
