This article discusses Louis Kahn＇s architectural design ideas of ＂measurement＂. Some of his construction works are introduced briefly, as well as ＂measurement＂ thinking. Through the combination with practical example, the article recommends the contents and significance of non-quantifiable spirit and measurable substance, as well as the application in the architectural design. At last, the article shows that the non-quantifiable and the measurable in the construction works are inseparable. At the same time, the article specifies the reference role of Louis Kahn idea to contemporary architects.
