Gel dyeing is one of the important method to obtain coloured polyacrylonitrile fiber. The technology and economic results of all dyeing methods were simply compared. The dyeing process and its effective factors were introduced. The important role of each monomer, catalyst, additive and control methods to dyed fiber was further explained. The satisfied dyeing result can be achieved by using the three dimensional infrared colour selection theory and colour mixing formula.
