The success of standardizing translated science and technology terms is eventually dependent on their acceptance and adoption by the users. Thus, it is necessary to make an in-depth study into all the factors that affect their acceptance, including those involving the terms themselves, the translator and the acceptor. The results may hopefully guide the standardization of the terms.
