中国矿业大学早期学术研究述论(1909-1949)

Early Academic Research in China University of Mining and Technology (1909-1949)

中国矿业大学的前身——焦作路矿学堂是中国创办最早并一直延续至今的矿业高等学府。中国近代矿业高等教育是与中国近代工业同步发展、特别是伴随煤矿的创办而兴起的。由从路矿学堂到福中矿务大学再到私立焦作工学院,学校不仅首开中国近代矿业高等教育的先河,而且作为国内当时唯一的私立工学院独步神州学苑。学校的早期创办者师法西方大学的办学理念与模式,坚持以学术为本,重研究、重交流、重基础、重实践,为新中国第一所矿业高等学府的学术研究、人才培养、师资力量奠定了重要基础。在中国矿业大学百年华诞到来之际,本文依据现有的校史资料,从学校学术研究的研究领域、活动形态、研究条件与管理机制等方面对中国矿业大学早期(1909-1949年)、主要是私立焦作工学院时期的学术研究的基本状况进行了梳理,从而展现了矿大前辈学人在学术探索的领域与成就、学术活动的形态与氛围、学术研究的条件与机制等方面形成的独特风格和影响,以达到鉴古知今之目的。

China University of Mining ＆ Technology, whose predecessor was Jiaozuo Railway and Mining College, has been the first established mining college and consecutive in education in China since its establishment. The modern Chinese mining college education has been developing with the modern industry, especially the mining industry. Jiaozuo Railway and Mining College, Fuzhong Mining University, and Private Jiaozuo Institute of Technology are all the names of CUMT in different historical periods. CUMT has not only sparked modern mining college education in China, but also become the only private engineering college listed in Chinese colleges index at that time. The former founders of CUMT followed the concepts and models of western colleges, which are characterized by focusing on academy, researching, communications, fundamental knowledge, and practice, which set up the foundation for academic research, talents cultivating, and the faculty of the first Chinese mining college. As the 100 anniversary of the establishment of CUMT is round the corner, in honor of this great occasion, this article discusses the foundations of academic researching in former periods of CUMT （From 1909 to 1949）, mainly in Private Jiaozuo Railway and Mining College period, based on current references, from the aspects of the academic fields, the academic activities, as well as the conditions and administration institutions in order to present the great masters＇ characters and their impacts on those realms.
