Strengthening Jiangsu Province by Relying on Higher Education:Theories and Practice

面对江苏省经济建设的快速发展和社会的不断进步,高等学校应按照社会需求调整研究生教育的学科、专业、层次和规模,鼓励学科专业之间的相互渗透和交叉,江苏省要力争获得全部学科、专业布局权,形成国家重点学科、江苏省重点学科和高等学校重点学科三位一体的重点学科建设体系,建立有利于江苏乃至全国经济和社会发展的研究生教育动态适应机制。

With the rapid growth of Jiangsu＇ s economy and the constant social progress, graduate education should be adjusted in its disciplines, specialties, levels and scales. Mutual infiltration and overlapping should be encouraged among different disciplines and specialties. Jiangsu Province should try to obtain the right of constructing and distributing all disciplines and specialties and formulate a three-in-one key discipline con- struction system to include key disciplines at state, provincial and school levels, thereby creating a dynamic adaptation mechanism for graduate education favorable to the economic development and social progress of Jiangsu as well as the whole country.
