On the Social Nature of Herbart's Educational Theory

赫尔巴特从社会本位的立场出发,高度重视培养人的道德性格,并通过教育的杠杆形成维护社会秩序的保障。以道德培养为核心的教育目的基于其对人——个体的人和社会的人的理解,着眼于社会,落脚于具体个人,教育性教学就是实现这一目标的重要手段。培养秩序化个人,并推动他向秩序化社会转化是贯穿其中的灵魂和指导原则,其关键是构建个人秩序化的观念。教育管理的根本就是促进个人秩序化行为的养成。

With the view of community, Herbart attaches great importance to the cultivation of children＇s moral character in order to form and maintain the social order by the lever of education. His moral-- centered educational goal was based on his understanding of human--individual and social human, thus he focused on society and settled on specific individuals. Educational teaching was an important means to achieve that goal. Training personal order and improving him to transform into social order was its soul and guiding principle, while its key point was to build the concept of personal order. And fundamental goal of educational management was to develop individuals＇ acts of order.
