周村开埠与传统工业的近代化

Opening of Zhoucun Port and the Modernization of Traditional Industry

周村是自明末清初以来的四大名镇之一,开埠以前其传统工业就得益于优越的地理位置和经济环境而甚为发达。开埠以后,周村的传统工业也融入到了近代城市工业化的时代大潮中,随之传统工业出现了生产工具改进、产品工艺提高、使用蒸汽机等诸多变化。但是,周村传统工业的近代化无法脱离自己的时代,因此,它的发展又是曲折的,脆弱的。

Zhoucun was one of the four famous towns in the early years of Qing Dynasty. Before the opening, it had developed into a significant commercial town in Shandong due to its advantageous geographic features and economic environment. Mter 1906, triggered by the Opening of Zhoucun Port, the traditional industry of Zhoucun integrated into the wave of industrialization of modem city, and then steam machines and the improvement of tools and technology came along. However, the modernization of Zhoucun traditional industry can not break away its own era, therefore, its development was flexuous and fragile.
