This paper analyzes some main characters＇ dialogues and settings in Pride and Prejudice guided by Relevance Theory from the angle of Pragmatics, which helps readers fully understand Jane Austen＇s superb craftsmanship： characterization, description of situation, intricate and balanced plots. As a result, readers will have deep insight into the novel and human nature by analyzing it with Relevance Theory, and improve the appreciation of literary works.
