Many eyes have lighted on Myanmar in recent years, wondering if it is another economic ＂tiger＂ in Southeast Asia. The country is rich in resource, and now its government is very friendly to foreign corporations. Thought its human-rights groups may carp at foreigners who deal with an unpleasant military regime, businessmen are worried about missing out the increasing business opportunities. Western countries believe that the ＂narcissistic＂ economic boom of Myanmar may actually be short-lived. Opponents of Myanmar＇s military regime also insist that the economic success in Myanmar is a gloss. The International Money Fund reports that the foreign investments in Myanmar, except military expenditure, have not grown. However, we will wait and see.
