Doubtlessly, Lee Kuan Yew has a far-reaching influnce on Singapore＇s law. Because of his advocating, Singapore emphasizes the deterrent function of punishment in it＇s constitution of criminal law. Singapore＇s specific criminal policies, such as abolishing the jury system, retaining the flogging, severe punishment of corruption and so on, are all related to him. So Lee Kuan Yew is a key for people who wants to study Singapore, especially it＇s politics and law.
