Readers, using the library information searching system to retrieve the required documentation of resources, that most concerned about is the position of resources in space, as well as the relationship of storage room with similarity information in geographic space, namely, how to access these resources, By virtue of its spatial data processing and visual display of information for the unique advantages, geographic information system has been widely used in various fields. Library Geographic Information System is to help administrators to manage a large number of collections, and at the same time to indicate the exact location of the books for readers who are interested in. The system designed had been achieved the above functions, and carried out exploratory applications in practice. This article introduces the characteristics of Geographic Information Systems in the university library, and analyses its system structures and functions.
