Study on Zhang Chongren’s Oil Painting in His Early Years

张充仁自20世纪中期以后,多以著名雕塑家的名声享誉中国美术界,而其早年卓越的油画艺术创作,逐渐淡出人们关注的视野。然而,我们不能忘却洋画运动的前前后后,曾经造就了这位中国油画界人才的辉煌;同时命运的曲折多变,又制约了其写实主义风格的深化和发展。张充仁早期油画艺术的成就和影响,足以证明这位中国美术前辈的艺术贡献,有助于我们对20世纪中国美术发展演变的思考和认识。

Ever since the middle of 20th century, Zhang Chongren has been famous as a sculptor in the Chinese art world, and his great oil painting creation in the early years has stepped out of people’s vision little by little. However, we cannot forget that this oil painting talent in China who was made by the Foreign Painting Movement had once been brilliant, but the ever changeable fate restricted his development in the realistic style. Zhang’s achievements and influences in oil painting in his early period was big enough to prove his art contribution as a predecessor, and helped our thinking and recognition about the development of the Chinese art in the 20th century.
