Objective To study the relationship between anxiety and depression level and nutritional status for the elderly patients with peritoneal dialysis. Method 68 elderly patients with peritoneal dialysis were surveyed by selfrating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) made by William W. K, Zung and Micro nutrient assessment (MNA). Result There was significant different MNA score for patients with peritoneal dialysis at different degree of anxiety and depression level (P〈0.05). The higher degree in anxiety and depression was observed, the lower score in MNA in patients. Conclusion Anxiety and depression are related closely to nutritional status in elderly patients with peritoneal dialysis. We have to pay attentions to the mental status of patients when we take targeted interventions to improve their nutritional status.
