近代中国,民族主义是一种十分重要的思想,它成为资产阶级民主革命派推动中国革命进程的一件有力武器。雷铁崖是辛亥革命时期著名的民主活动家。辛亥革命前,雷铁崖的革命活动主要是在日本、国内、槟榔屿创办报刊杂志,宣传革命,宣传的重点就是民族主义思想。他的民族主义思想立足于中国的传统民族观,在法学外衣下,带有浓厚的种族主义色彩。

In modern China, nationalism was a very important ideology. It was a powerful vehicle used by the democratic and revolution faction of the capitalist class to propel Chinese revolution. As a prominent democratic activist, Lei Tieya, before the Revolution of 1911, went in for mainly establishing periodical publications and magazine and the propaganda of revolution in Japan, China and Penang. He disseminated chiefly nationalist ideology which was based on traditional nationalism of China and was in the frame of law with strong racism.
