摘要
长期以来,中国外语教学的重点过多地放在教授语言知识本身,以词汇和语法为主,忽略了学生的语用能力。对165名英语专业学生进行的语用能力的问卷测试表明:中国学生在使用英语交际时容易犯两种语用失误,即语用语言失误和社交语用失误。分析其原因并得出结论:提高学生的语用能力,使他们最大程度地避免语用失误是英语教学中刻不容缓的任务。
There has always been a belief that a foreign language learner can use the languageeffectively as long as he/she has mastered knowledge of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Therefore, teaching a foreign language often means teaching language knowledge and the students' pragmatic competence has been ignored. The result of the questionnaire on pragmatic competence finished by 165 English majors (67 second-year students and 98 third-year students) shows that Chinese students of English are likely to commit two types of pragmatic failures: pragmalinguistic and sociopragmatic failures. The conclusion of the analysis is that it is an urgent task for English language teaching to improve students' pragmatic competence and help them avoid pragmatic failure.
