In the men＇s basketball matches during the 29th Olympic Games, it is a com mon sense for all participating teams that winning the game should rest upon the whole team＇s coordination of attacking and defending tactics. Elementary attacking tactics has been paid great attention to by all teams of men＇s basketball during the 29th Olympic Games, due to its relatively easy coordination, high efficiency in attacking,and its integration of personal skills with the whole team. By means of literature review, observation, mathematical statistics and analysis,the author has studied the application of elementary attacking tactics in the competition for the purpose of understanding the characteristics of elementary attacking tactics applied by world top teams and providing beneficial references for the Chinese men＇s basketball team on their future training and games.
