From tLhe concept of Green Technolgy (GT), the article diseusses the great importance of GT with the view of the national ninth five - year plan for envirorunental protection and the long - term targets for the year 2010. Facing the present situation of economical development and environxnental prevention in Shanghai, the article puts foward five facets to practise GT. They are: ①society consumption concept, ②product quality, ③metropolitan agricultUre，④pollution control, and ⑤ environmental industry.
