概述从按纵向学科建设安全技术专业到按横向学科建设安全工程专业的缘由。从工业安全技术到安全工程专业的转变与实践经过，对安全工程专业的培养目标及课程体系进行了探讨。提出了安全工程专业必须在安全科学理论指导下，并按横向学科进行建设。

The reason why the establishment of safety engineering speciality should transit form vertical disciplines to cross-sectional disciplines was briefly introduced.Experiencing the transition and practice from industry safety technology to safety engineering speciality,the goal of training and the setting of the disciplinary courses were discussed. The authors indicated that the qualified personnel of this discipline could only be well trained under the guidance of safety science theory and setting the courses according to cross-sectional disciplines.
