The Internal Tension in Western Thoughts of Justice

正义问题的讨论在西方伦理学中呈现出一种紧张、对抗、冲突的景象,充满了内在的思辨张力。这种内在的思辨张力突出表现在三个方面:正义究竟是立足于社会的维面还是个人的维面?正义究竟是落实于乌托邦还是现实界?正义究竟是诉之于德性的完美还是制度的完善?正是这种内在的张力推动着西方伦理学不断深化对正义问题的理解和把握。

The issue of justice has been continuously explored in the history of western ethics. In different historical period, the discussion about justice has been presented with controversial image which is full of internal tension. This kind of internal tension can be shown as the following questions. Can justice be relied on perfect virtue or improvement of social system？ Is justice established on social level or individual level？ Can justice be realized in the utopia world or realistic world？ It is the internal tension which has pushed the exploration of justice in western ethics.
