On the Correlation between Germen's Perspective on Chinese Culture and Their Historical Backgrounds and National Spirits

从有据可考的中德之间第一次交流,到近现代德国学者对中国文化的两次突出关注,中间历时数百年;而无论是对中国文化的景仰,抑或在十九世纪对中国文化的贬抑,德国人的中国文化视角都与他们当时的思考动态、时代精神密切相关。

It has been a long time of several centuries from the first recorded communication between China and Germany to Germen scholars′ twice special attentions to Chinese culture in modem time. And their attitudes to Chinese culture varied in different period of time. At the very beginning they admired Chinese culture very much, and in 19th century they had depreciated Chinese culture as well. And the author of this article thinks Germen′s perspective on Chinese culture has been closely related to their historical backgrounds and national spirit in specific period of time.
