现在，人们普遍认识到，假药之横行日益对世界各地患者的健康和幸福构成严重威胁。据世界卫生组织估计，假药的销售额已高达市场份额的百分之三十之多。虽因各国和各洲情况不同，具体数字还难已确定，不过，很显然，假药问题已日益对全球公众卫生构成威胁。
It is now well recognised that counterfeit pharmaceuticals pose an increasing threat to the health and well-being of patients around the world. The World Heath Organization （WHO） has estimated that sales of counterfeit drugs account for up to 30 per cent of market share depending on the country and continent. While exact numbers are difficult to determine, it is clear that the problem is a growing threat to public health globally.
