摘要
Trigeminal neuralgia is manifested commonly as sudden burst of unilateral pain of the face, and characterized by paroxysmal radiating drastic pain like electric shock, with splitting, stabbing and burning sensation. It is extremely hard for patient to tolerate, due to which, the patient has to press forcefully or rub the affected side to alleviate pain. In each attack, pain lasts very shortly, and is re- lieved naturally in several seconds to several mi- nutes. The disease is attacked periodically. Very few patients are cured naturally and very few cases have bilateral pain of the face in attack. The au- thors had treated 68 cases of trigeminal neuralgia from December 1999 to December 2007 by selection of distant points with acupuncture. The report is as follows.
