Indian and Chinese Paths of Development: Differences and Results

在经济全球化进程中,存在自主性与依附性"两条道路"的斗争。虽然中国和印度经济发展的起点相同,但由于两者选择了不同的道路,导致中国和印度的经济发展出现了截然不同的后果。通过对印度结构式的考察以及深入的理论分析,作者认为,中印两国发展道路之争实际上是制度之争,如果中国未来在政治上陷入印度式的制度,在经济上走上印度式的依附性道路,那么中国的发展可能反倒还不如印度。

During the economic globalization process,there was a struggle between the independent and dependent paths of development. Despite starting at roughly the same economic development level,different choices of growth have led to completely separate results for China and India. Based on observations and in-depth theoretical analyses on India’s institutional structures,this author argues that the current China-India competition is,for all purposes,a standoff between two institutions. If China were to adopt the Indian political regime and dependent path of development in the future,it would become possible that the PRC would become more underdeveloped than India.
