＂LBL-type＂ external thermal insulation system with rubber powder poly-phenyl granule attaching to polystyrene board is an innovation based on the traditional external insulation systems. It can meet the needs of energy-saving standard in the different climatic zones. A residential building of a university in Shandong province was taken as example. The structure, charocteristics, performance indexs, construction technology and thermal performance checking of this system were summarized. Due to its advantages of green environmental protection and good competitive price, this system has good social and economic benefits.
