西方文学经典并不等同于中国的西方经典,那些成为了中国的西方文学经典必然经过了文化的过滤和转换。西方经典的中国化与中国译介者的眼光和视野是分不开的,并与中国的政治意识形态、主流文学传统紧密相关。西方经典还必须经受现代性的考验才能成为中国现代社会的文学经典。西方文学经典"中国化"后,就成为中国文学的一部分,甚至成为中国文学经典的一部分,对中国文学的发展和演变发挥着十分重要的作用,甚至在某种程度上影响并改变了中国文学的基本精神和特征。

Western literary canon doesn＇t necessarily amount to sinic western literary canon. Therefore, those sinic western literary canon must he filtrated and transformed by culture inevitably. The Chinese translators＇ foresight and vision decide the sinicization of western literary canon. Meanwhile, it also tightly correlates with Chinese political ideology and mainstream literature tradition. In addition, it is those western literary canon which can stand the test of modernity that can be literary canon in Chinese modern society. Sinicized western literary canon wil] turn into a portion of Chinese literature, even a portion of Chinese literary canon.
