The achievements in the research of controlled blasting and vibration reduction in some China's openpit mines are reviewed and the characteristics of several effective controlledblasting methods and vibration reduction measures are described.The analysis has shown that China has achieved a rapid development in the controlled deephole blasting and vibration reduction technologies,which ensures a longterm slope stability of China's largescale openpit mines.
