This paper seeks to bring Bone, the first novel written by Chinese American writer Fae Myenne Ng, into analysis through the lens of post - colonial critical perspective. The novel has weaved the history and politics of the individual, the family and the nation into a national allegory through telling about the Leongs" stories in the Chinatown of San Francisco. From "Luoye Guigen" to "Luodi Shenggen", the novel demonstrated that they had been undergoing a series of changes when Chinese workers and immigrants and their children integrated into American society and become Americans and revealed the implied constructional meaning of Chinese American identity through the truthful representation of Chinese Americans identity in the stories of the Leongs.
