The VAH type catalyst for gas phase hydrogenation of aldehydes developed by PetroChina Petrochemical Research Institute has been won the tender for commercial application on the 30-kt/a butanal/octanol unit at Norao Chemical Co. in Zibo to achieve dissemination and application of this catalyst outside the PetroChina system. Furthermore, this catalyst is expected to be adopted on two propanol units of Norao Chemical Co. and on three butanal/octanol units at SINOPEC Qilu Petrochemical Company.
