摘要
车牌定位技术是车牌识别技术中最重要的部分,根据车牌区域字符的特点,提出了一种综合纹理分析和梯度特征的车牌定位方法。利用车牌字符的纹理特征提取出可能存在车牌的区域,再利用车牌字符和背景梯度的差异性进一步过滤掉由于背景原因产生的伪车牌区域,进而准确定位出真正的车牌区域。实验结果表明该方法运算量小,对复杂背景车辆图像有很好的定位效果,具有较好的应用性。
License plate location technology is the most important part in the automatic license plate recognition system. According to the character of the license plate letters, this paper provides the method of license plate location based on texture analysis and gradient feature. The possible plate field can be collected by the texture, and the fault plate field can be filtrated by the differences of plate letter and background gradient and then the true plate field can be located. Testing has approved the validity of this method -- smaller operation measure and better location of the complicated figures.
