This paper introduces the principle and characters of RTK technique. It also focuses on the problems of the traditional methods to cross-section surveying and finds out the solutions to these problems. The accuracy of elevation surveying by RTK technique can meet demands to cross-section surveying of highway through the comparison with method of level surveying. At the same time, the article introduces the general steps to cross-sectional surveying by RTK technique in detail.
