History,Diaspora and Identity:Decoding of A Way to the World by V.S. Naipaul

对于后殖民作家和理论家来说,定位、移位以及重新定位是非常重要的问题,因为正是这不断的位置的移动导致了他们身份认同的困境和疑难。2001年诺贝尔文学奖获得者V.S.奈保尔的《世间之路》,可以说是他对自己多年的流散(diasporic)经验的一种概括总结,同时也是对被帝国主导叙事(master narrative)湮埋扭曲的殖民地历史的重新书写,这个书写的过程同时也见证了后殖民主体的身份认同过程。

To post-colonial writers and theorists, the most important problems are orientation, displacement and relocation ,for the movement results in their difficulty in their identity recognition. In 2001, V.S.Naipaul won the Nobel Literature Prize for his book A Way to the World,in which he summed up his years of diasporic experience,meanwhile he re-wrote the colonial history distorted by empire＇s master narration, and during the process he witnessed identity recognition problem in post-colonial period.
