A Probe into Turkey-Iran Relation in the New Century

土耳其与伊朗有发展友好关系的地缘优势和良好现实条件,但两国关系长期冷淡。本世纪出现的伊拉克问题、能源因素和伊朗核问题对土伊两国关系产生了积极影响。在库尔德问题上存在的共同利益,拉近了两国关系的距离;对能源的需求使土耳其不顾美国的反对;对于伊朗核问题,土耳其反对美国运用武力,赢得伊朗赞赏。土伊的接近整体上符合国际社会的利益,也有利于地区形势的稳定,但美国的干扰一直是土伊关系发展中难以排除的阴影。土伊两国在建立新的经济联系机制与合作原则等方面还有许多工作要做。

There are geographical advantages and good realistic conditions for Turkey and Iran to develop their relations,but the relations between the two have long been cold.However,the issues of Iraq,energy factors and nuclear issue of Iran have all influenced positively the bilateral relations.The shared interests in tackling the Kurd issue have got the two close each other.The demand for energy has made Turkey ignore the U.S.opposition.It is appreciated by Iran that Turkey has stood against the U.S.military attack in solving the Iran nuclear issue.The approach of the two states is in accordance with the interest of international society and beneficial to the regional stability,yet the U.S.interference has long been the negative element that affecting Turkey-Iran relation development.There are still much work for the two to do in establishing new economic relation mechanism and cooperative principles.
