《莎乐美》是王尔德唯美主义的代表作品之一,这部独幕剧通过华丽的语言、神秘的意象和离奇的情节强调艺术的感官美、享乐主义和对刹那主义的追求。《莎乐美》是王尔德戏剧的美学实验,体现了作者诸多美学主张,同时它也包含了美学理想和道德的冲突,具有很强的象征意义。
Salome is one of the Oscar Wilde＇s representative works of Aestheticism. The single-act play emphasizes the art of sensual beauty, hedonism and the pursuit of instantism through its gorgeous language, mystical image, and bizarre plot. Not is a pure aesthetical figure alone, the heroine of Salome is entangled in complex ethical issues which failed her to escape from moral condemnation. While reflecting a good many aesthetic prepositions, Salome also embraces the contlicts between aesthetics ideal and morality thus is regarded as the aesthetic experiment of Wilde＇ s plays.
