摘要
为了模拟计算研究2维三角形光子晶体波导自成像多模干涉的耦合特性,提出一种2维光子晶体2端口分束器。基于自成像多模干涉效应,采用有限时域差分法,数值计算和分析了这种分束器的特性。结果表明,这种分束器每个输出端的反射率低于0.002,透射率可高达0.498,造成这种现象的物理原因是多模干涉区的自成像效应。这种多模干涉在光子晶体光学集成电路中具有重要的潜在应用价值。
In order to study the characteristics of multimode interference effect and self-imaging principle in 2-D triangle photonic crystal waveguides, a 2-D 2-port photonic crystal splitter was proposed. The characteristics of the splitter was calculated and analyzed with finite-difference time-domain(FDTD) method based on the multimode interference effect and the self-imaging principle. The results show the reflectance of each output end of the splitter is smaller than O. 002, and its transmittance is larger than 0. 498 because of the self-imaging effectin the multi-mode region. This kind of multi-mode interference may find potential application in integrated circuit of photonic crystal.
