The author introduces the history and the current situation of Rotterdam which is regarded as an international port. Accordingly, he suggests that in order to build the international trade center, Shanghai should strengthen the development of shipping center and financial center and deepen the interactive relationship between other cities in the Yangtze Delta, creating a sustainable and liveable city.
