The rise of a private shipbuilding enterpriser

2009年7月10日,上海香格里拉大酒店嘉宾云集,高朋满座。来自阿曼苏丹国的皇室成员、国家经济部部长、金融和能源资源委员会副主席、阿曼航运公司董事长阿赫迈·麦基阁下,和由他率领的阿曼苏丹国政 府及阿曼航运公司代表团，以及国家工业与信息化部、江苏省、南通市、如皋市等中国政府官员，中国船舶行业协会、各大银行、船级社的高管，巴西淡水河谷、芬兰瓦锡兰集团的客人，共同见证了由熔盛重工与阿曼航运公司（OSC）签下4艘40万吨矿砂船（VLOC）合同。

Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries Co,the country's biggest private shipbuilder,said it had won an order to build four vessels worth $484 million for a client in Oman,the biggest foreign order by a Chinese shipyard this year.Jiangsu Rongsheng will build four very large ore carriers of 400,000 dead weight tons(DWT) each for Oman Shipping Co,a State-owned shipping operator in Oman.The vessels will be delivered by the end of 2011 or beginning of 2012.People still remember,in August 2008,Rongsheng Heavy Industries Co signed a 12 ship 400,000 tons of ore(VLOC) construction contract with the world's largest iron ore supplier CVRD,a record of the history of the world's largest single shipbuilding orders.Due to the two consecutive records within 12 months,the company not only makes herself especially eye-catching,at the same time,the achievement has stimulated the current downturn of the shipbuilding industry.
