美、中、印工程教育质量与数量的实证分析 被引量:4

The Qualitive and Quantitive Empirical Analysis of American,Chinese and Indian Engineering Education

摘要 本文对以往美国、中国和印度工程类毕业生人数的统计提出了质疑。研究表明:美国工程师和技术专家的数量与中国和印度的差距比原来报道的要小。美国仍是全球高品质工程人才的主要来源;尽管工程师的缺口巨大,中国和印度工程类毕业生仍面临着大量失业的困境;由于签证的不确定性和工程师来源国自身经济的增长,美国也正受到如何吸引和留住国外顶尖工程人才的考验。本文认为工程教育的关键是毕业生质量,而不是数量。质量是影响工程师创新和企业家精神的直接因素。 This paper brings force questions to the statistics of engineering graduates in America, China and India. Studies show that the gap between the number of American engineers and technical experts and that of China and India is smaller than ever reported. America is still the main source to provide high quality engineering talents for the world, though the engineers are of great shortage and graduates from engineering specialty in China and India still face great unemployment difficulty. Because of the uncertainty of visa and the eeonomic growth of the engineer- producing countries, America is now facing the challenge of how to attract and retain engineering talents of foreign countries. In this paper, it proposes that the key point of engineering education is the quality of graduates instead of the quan- tity. Quality is the direct factor that influences the innovation of engineers and the spirit of enterpreneurs.
