摘要
China＇s increasing visibility on the international stage in recent years brings doubt about whether China will develop peacefully to the fore. In this paper, the author argues that acknowledging that the world has entered into an era featuring complex interdependence, China is determined to pursue a “peaceful development”policy and to build a harmonious world through cooperation. To consolidate the foundation of a mutual trust and a harmonious relationship between China and the world depends on two aspects. On the one hand, the rest of the world should get rid of the cold-war mentality, try to get a comprehensive and objective picture of China, and take China as a normal state when dealing with China. On the other hand, China should keep on a global-thinking and be more open to and learn more fi＇om the world, so as to mitigate the world＇s misunderstanding about China and eventually eliminate the demonized image of China. However, to achieve the goal of a harmonious world needs time, and both China and the world should be patient.
