Over the past decade there are debates on the scaling law of the mean velocity and on whether the flow close to a wall can be regarded as universal for zero-pressure-gradient turbulent boundary layers at high Reynolds numbers. The current statuses in these issues ave reviewed in the present paper, and these arguments seem still far from conclusion.
