A Genre Analysis of the Conclusions of Academic Paper——Taking Applied Linguistics for Example

学术论文的结论不仅能点明论文主旨,还能提升论文的整体高度。本文通过对应用语言学领域的权威杂志Applied linguistics所选的38篇学术论文的结论部分的体裁分析,拟提出其结论的四大语轮结构:研究背景概括、研究结果陈述、研究结果应用和研究不足及展望。研究结果表明,研究结果陈述是结论部分的核心及必要组成。本研究丰富了体裁分析的研究并为结论的阅读和写作教学提供了重要依据。

The conclusion of an academic paper not only states the research theme but also lifts the paper to a higher level. By analyzing the genre of conclusions of 38 academic papers in Applied Linguistics, an authoritative journal in linguistic field, this article puts forward a basic four-move structure for the conclusion part in academic paper. The four moves consist of generalization of research background, statement of research results, application of research results, the limitation of the research and suggestions. The article finds that the statement of a research result is the kemel in the conclusion of an academic paper. This research is expected to enrich the researches of genre analysis and provide important foundation for the teaching of conclusion reading and writing in academic paper.
