The technology of water as a reaction medium for a variety of organic synthesis reactions, the biocatalysis processes, the aqueous catalyst recycling and product separation,and the combination of electrochemical-solar chemistry in water were reviewed. The development and application of the technology of water as medium for clean production in the field of chemical industry were made a brief outlook.
