On the Hero and the Heroine in The Tale of Pipa

元末高明创作的南戏《琵琶记》是一部代表着南戏艺术最高成就的剧目,也是一部较为复杂的古代戏曲作品。不同版本的文学史对其的分析不尽相同。针对袁行霈主编《中国文学史》中对《琵琶记》的两段描述展开讨论,发现撰写人由于没有深入到文本的底部发掘出它更深层的文化意蕴和话语权力来,因而这些描述就难免流于表层。

In Terminal stage ofthe Yuan Dynasty, Gao Ming created a Southern Opera—— The tale of Pipa, h was the highest achievement of the Southern Opera, and also one of the more complex works of ancient Chinese opera. Different versions of literary history made different analysis about it. When discussing the description of two paragraphs about The tale of Pipa in the China＇s literary history by Yuan Xing - pei, it is found the description is of superficiality, due to the writer＇s not exploring the deeper cultural implication and discourse power.
