军旗对先秦战争有着特殊的意义,而它的种类、形制与《周礼》"九旗"并不完全一致。在作战时,军旗除了能够指挥军队与表明等级,在古人观念中,它还可以起到沟通神灵、保佑赐福的作用,甚至成为杀伤敌人的"武器"。
