摘要
大学的根本在于学问,为学术而学术是学者的至高境界。外加的形式化的东西,并非大学和学者的动力源泉。一再地用形式化、符号化的办法去寻求质量,是舍本求末的做法。只有真正的大学自治和学术自由到来之时,才是中国的世界一流大学真正到来之时。
The root of university is academic. ＂Science for Science＇s Sake＂ is the highest state of scholars. Some additional formalized matters are not the drive of university and scholars. It is a method of leaving the important and pursuing the trivial. Only when the real university autonomy and academic freedom comes, it is time for the appearance of the worldclass university in China.
