Management strategy for pancreatic head tumor

随着影像学诊断技术的进步和普及,发现胰头部肿块病例日渐增多。胰头肿块涉及多种病变,因此诊断胰头实性肿块确切的性质十分辣手。目前主要根据病人的临床表现、影像学检查及肿瘤标志物等综合判断,经足够的检查后,选择治疗方案。术前应该与病人和家人讨论治疗方案,详述手术目的、风险和疗效。

With the improvement and availability of radiological imaging, pancreatic head tumor is being recognized with increasing frequency. There are various pathologies which can present as a pancreatic head tumor. Sometimes it is difficult to determine the exact nature of the pancreatic head tumor without resectional surgery. Currently, the diagnosis and the choice of treatment strategy should be based on a combined assessment of the patient＇ s clinical presentations, radiological imaging findings and the levels of the serum tumor markers. After adequate assessment, the clinician should discuss in detail with the patient and the family on the treatment strategy. The indications, potential risks and benefits should be adequately explained before treatment.
