The interface between particle physics and cosmology has become a very active field in recent years. The inflationary universe (or Kaluza-Klein cosmology)is a modification of the standard hot big bang model, which has been motivated by several flaws that emerge when the standard model is extrapolated backward to very early time. Wormhole mechanism for the vanishing of the cosmological constant is reviewed.
